The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wilkinsburg, who took down 490th ranked West Shamokin, 27-6.
Springdale moved up to 336 from 390 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in WPIAL A Eastern. The Dynamos were able to make the jump by beating Apollo Ridge 24-0.
The Vikings' dynamic duo of Jesse Zelonka and Tre Tipton proved tough for Springdale to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Zelonka threw for 126 yards and Tipton had 49 yards receiving. Alex Smith helped Apollo Ridge's passing attack out by catching three balls for 32 yards.
Vinny Piccolino was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 88 yards on 15 carries as Riverview fell to Charles Vincent Wagner's team. Teammate Tim Wagner added to the ground attack by rushing for 56 yards.
John Skiba's team's Zelonka and Tipton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Zelonka has thrown for 787 yards this season, while Tipton, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 28 catches for 479 yards. The Wolves' Zac Horner leads the league in rushing yards with 423.
A big matchup in WPIAL A Eastern this week will be when Northgate takes on the Vikings. As it stands, the Flames are in first, while Apollo Ridge is in fifth.
The Dynamos took down the Vikings 24-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
