BLUFFTON, S.C. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Bluffton (S.C.) on Saturday, totaling 24 points as the Bobcats bested Colleton County (Walterboro, S.C.) 63-12.
After taking the lead on a
Tykeem Major touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bobcats led 42-6 at the half.
Bluffton expanded its lead to 50 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
With the win the Bobcats extended their winning streak to 10 games. Bluffton defeated the Patriots 27-26 last week.
BHS's standout player in the win was Major. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
Led by
Shameik Blackshear, the Bobcats came into the game allowing 9.8 points per game.
Bluffton (10-0) faces off against Summerville in a AAAA Region VIII game its next time out. The Green Wave go into the week with a record of 5-4.
