Baseball Recap: Woodson Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Woodson had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 5-11 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lake Braddock Bruins a 3-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Cavaliers have beaten the Bruins on their field since April 1, 2022.

As for Lake Braddock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8. Bruins fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Woodson since on Tuesday.

For Lake Braddock's part, Jack Cavallario was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Cavallario is becoming a predictor of the Bruins' success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

Coming up, Woodson will face off against Annandale at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Braddock, they will challenge St. Albans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
