This season hasn't been kind to the Amplus Academy Archers, who are still winless after their 14th matchup. They were dealt a 61-4 defeat at the hands of Somerset Academy Losee on Wednesday. Amplus Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-0.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Amplus Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Somerset Academy Losee racked up 13 assists.
Somerset Academy Losee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayla Lewis led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Key Thrower, who scored 15 points along with six steals.
Amplus Academy dropped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.9 points per game. As for Somerset Academy Losee, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.
Amplus Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Desert Shields at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cheyenne is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they will be playing at home against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
