The Lisbon Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Kindred, falling 67-36. Lisbon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-16.
Lisbon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kyra Haecherl, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Haecherl hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Emerson Schultz, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Lisbon's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-9. As for Kindred, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lisbon the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Ellendale at 12:45 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Dakota (Ellendale is ranked 74th, while Lisbon is ranked 83rd). As for Kindred, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Turtle Mountain at 3:00 p.m.
