The Lincoln Patriots put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Aberdeen Central 55-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Lincoln, who have now won eight contests by 23 points or more so far this season.
Despite the loss, Aberdeen Central still got an impressive performance from Avery Ligon, who rushed for 172 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Ligon really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.
Lincoln's win was their ninth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.11 points. As for Aberdeen Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Lincoln will look to defend their home field on October 27th against Stevens at 6:00 p.m. Stevens is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Aberdeen Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Watertown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Watertown is ranked 15th, while Aberdeen Central is ranked 20th).
