On Friday, The Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars got themselves on the board against the Providence Christian Academy LIONS, but the Providence Christian Academy LIONS never followed suit. They breezed by the LIONS on the road to the tune of 41-0. The result was nothing new for Middle Tennessee Christian, who have now won six matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Eli Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 197 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 36 receiving yards. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Middle Tennessee Christian also got a significant boost from Yates Geren, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
The win makes it two in a row for Middle Tennessee Christian and bumps their season record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41 points. As for Providence Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middle Tennessee Christian will take on Ezell-Harding Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ezell-Harding Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Middle Tennessee Christian is ranked 74th). As for Providence Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Webb School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Webb School is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
