The Clinton Christian Couriers will be playing at home against Andrews Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton Christian is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Clinton Christian took a serious blow against the Cougars, falling 51-24. Clinton Christian has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Austin Troyer, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Lower, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Andrews Academy strolled past the with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 65-47. The victory was just what Andrews Academy needed coming off of a 64-34 loss in their prior matchup.
Andrews Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Keyes out in front who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Fin Dronen, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Clinton Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Andrews Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Clinton Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Andrews Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Clinton Christian won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, slipping by the 34-33. Will Clinton Christian repeat their success, or do the have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
