Butte has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Flathead Braves/Bravettes at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-32, which was the final score in Butte's tilt against Big Sky on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Butte has scored all season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Flathead, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They fell 60-50 to Glacier on Friday. Flathead has struggled against Glacier recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Flathead's loss came about despite a quality game from Lyric Ersland, who scored 21 points along with three blocks and two steals. Ersland has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brody Thornsberry, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Butte now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Flathead, they bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Everything went Butte's way against Flathead in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 as Butte made off with a 89-65 win. Does Butte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Flathead turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
