The Memorial Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Memorial didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Brookfield, but they still walked away with a 53-47 victory. Given Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while Brookfield is ranked 626th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Josue Rodriguez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Teyon Harris was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, Liberty pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Champion 70-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (57), Liberty still had to take the loss.
Memorial pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Liberty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
Memorial was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 37-29. Will Memorial repeat their success, or does Liberty have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
