Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brea Olinda). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the El Modena Vanguards on Friday, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Vanguards are ranked 60th).

Brea Olinda hit El Modena with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Diego Reynoso, Jens Erxleben, and Michael Ingallinera.

Brea Olinda's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for El Modena, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2.

Brea Olinda will head out on the road to challenge La Mirada at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. La Mirada's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. El Modena will take on Rancho Alamitos in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. El Modena is facing Rancho Alamitos at the right time seeing as Rancho Alamitos is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
