Football Recap: Marc Canzoneri and Xavier Brown Pace John Curtis Christian Defense

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact John Curtis Christian can now relate to. They took a 24-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alexandria Trojans on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 31 points in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

When it comes to explaining why John Curtis Christian lost, don't look at Reggie Johnson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 138 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in passing yards. Another player making a difference was Jacobi Boudreaux, who gained 127 total yards and a touchdown.

With the defeat, John Curtis Christian broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6. As for Alexandria, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
