North Stanly and North Rowan are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

North Stanly's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against South Stanly on Friday. They took a blow against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls, falling 40-0. Having soared to a lofty 37 points in the game before, the Comets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, North Rowan entered their tilt with Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 58-0 win over the Gryphons. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 42 points or more this season.

North Rowan's win came from a few key players North Stanly will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Michael Alford, who threw for 337 yards and five TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of North Rowan's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was A'Son Best, who picked up 224 receiving yards and three scores.

North Rowan now has a winning record of 4-3. As for North Stanly, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

North Stanly was taken down by North Rowan 49-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Thankfully for the Comets, Jeremiah Alford (who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 229 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
