Baseball Recap: Pittsfield Wins Going Away Against Pleasant Hill

While Pittsfield put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Pleasant Hill. The Saukees put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 19-0 victory. The Saukees haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Carter Frazier and Hayden Gratton were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Frazier tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gratton tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Frazier has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Frazier got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run, while Gratton got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave Gratton a new career-high.

In other batting news, Luke Saxe was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Reinhardt, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base.

Pittsfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pittsfield's record now sits at 13-4. As for Pleasant Hill, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Pittsfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Brown County on the 23rd. As for Pleasant Hill, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
