It was a good run, but the Viewmont Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 51-41 to Skyline. Viewmont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Skyline apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Viewmont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mara Mickelson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Mulitalo, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Leelu Bare continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Skyline, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bare has scored at least 25% of Skyline's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cami Groberg, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Viewmont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Skyline, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.
Viewmont will take on Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverton is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Skyline will be home for the holidays to greet Clearfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clearfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Skyline in Utah (Clearfield is ranked 30th, while Skyline is ranked 93rd).
