The Piney Woods Tornadoes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Taylorsville on the road by a decisive 54-38 margin. Piney Woods lost against Taylorsville in their previous head to head back in January of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 48-41 score last time.
Despite the loss, Piney Woods still got an impressive performance from Jeovani Kazadi, who scored 16 points. Ceasar Stewart was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Piney Woods has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Taylorsville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
Piney Woods will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Leake County at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. As for Taylorsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mississippi School for the Deaf at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mississippi School for the Deaf has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 11.
