Catholic Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Novi Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Catholic Central's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Last Friday, Catholic Central got themselves on the board against Mumford, but Mumford never followed suit. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over the Mustangs. 35 seems to be a good number for Catholic Central as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
The critical scores for Catholic Central came from Cedric Williams, Connor Ryan, and Lee Krueger.
Meanwhile, Novi was able to grind out a solid win over Glenn on Friday, taking the game 35-24. Novi's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Novi's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Boden Fernsler led the charge by picking up 156 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Walker, who threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt.
Catholic Central's victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.7 points per game. As for Novi, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Everything came up roses for Catholic Central against Novi in their previous matchup back in November of 2020 as the team secured a 37-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Catholic Central since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
