The Mt. Salus Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-25 loss at the hands of Hillcrest Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mt. Salus Christian has scored all season.
Hillcrest Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Battle out in front who scored 18 points. Severe McNeary was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and three steals.
Mt. Salus Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Hillcrest Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Salus Christian will face off against Woodlawn Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodlawn Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. Salus Christian in Mississippi (Woodlawn Prep is ranked 117th, while Mt. Salus Christian is ranked 271st). As for Hillcrest Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Benton Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
