The Como-Pickton Eagles will head out to face off against the Hawkins Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Como-Pickton comes in on seven and Hawkins on five.
Como-Pickton came out on top against Yantis on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Owls a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sean Carpenter made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Como-Pickton let Dane Oud and Otto Self run wild. Oud went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Self went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Self a new career-high. Cristian Munoz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Como-Pickton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .435 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Hawkins made easy work of Cumby on Friday and carried off a 10-0 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Eli Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Hawkins is undefeated when Smith posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Brayden Givens looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Riggin Smith and Hunter Kirklin did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Kirklin went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Smith is becoming a predictor of Hawkins' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't).
Hawkins now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Como-Pickton, their record now sits at 9-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Como-Pickton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Hawkins struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Como-Pickton got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Hawkins by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
