Two dominant guards in Robert Brown and Collin Jefferson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Inlet Grove Hurricanes will square off against the John Carroll Catholic Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
A well-balanced attack led Inlet Grove over the Gladiators in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Everything went Inlet Grove's way against the Gladiators as the Hurricanes made off with a 75-54 victory. The victory was just what Inlet Grove needed coming off of a 69-37 loss in their prior match.
Inlet Grove found their leader in underclassman Brown, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Jordan Cajilus was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, John Carroll Catholic came up short against the Falcons on Friday and fell 73-64.
Inlet Grove's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-11. As for John Carroll Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.
Inlet Grove was able to grind out a solid win over the Rams in their previous meeting back in January of 2015, winning 57-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Inlet Grove since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
