That's another feather in the cap for Franklin Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Franklin Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Robert Guishard led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guishard also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Alicot, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Somerset Academy Central Miramar had strong showings from Jayden Auguste, who scored 16 points along with four steals, and Joshua Petit, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Petit has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alpha Hicks, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Somerset Academy Central Miramar struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Franklin Academy posted 13 assists.
Franklin Academy's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3. As for Somerset Academy Central Miramar, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Franklin Academy will head out on the road to take on Sheridan Hills Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sheridan Hills Christian will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Somerset Academy Central Miramar will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on International Studies at 4:45 p.m. on January 25th.
