The Cedar Park Timberwolves will square off against the Wakeland Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Wakeland likes a good challenge.
Cedar Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 50-43 victory over Tyler. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Lions are ranked 483rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trae Samuel Frost Hill produced another solid performance rushing for 374 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.1 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. David Cooper also helped with two touchdowns in total.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cedar Park was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 488 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Wakeland strolled past Newman Smith with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-12. The Wolverines pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.
Wakeland's win came from a few key players Cedar Park will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lucas Mangham, who picked up 108 receiving yards and three scores. Another player making a difference was Jayden Maples, who threw for 171 yards and three TDs.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Wakeland's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Edward Selig and Blake Landry, who racked up 4.5 sacks between them. Landry has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played. Austin Wilson was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making six total tackles (3.5 for loss).
Wakeland pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.1 points over those games. As for Cedar Park, their record now sits at 8-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Cedar Park has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 290.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wakeland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 173.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
