It was a good run, but the Hebrew Academy Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by True North Classical Academy at home and fell 87-43. Hebrew Academy has not had much luck with True North Classical Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
True North Classical Academy found their leader in underclassman Cj Gonzalez, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Vazquez, who scored 17 points.
Hebrew Academy's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for True North Classical Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hebrew Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Katz Yeshiva at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Katz Yeshiva has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. True North Classical Academy will finish 2023 at home by hosting Kings at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 275th in Ohio, while True North Classical Academy is ranked 114th in Florida).
