There's no place like home for the Midland Trail Patriots, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They slipped by Greenbrier West 65-64 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Midland Trail got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Gladwell out in front who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gladwell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Eli Campbell, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Midland Trail pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Greenbrier West, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midland Trail will face off against Independence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Independence has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Greenbrier West, they will head out on the road to challenge Pocahontas County at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Pocahontas County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
