Justin Underwood was a one-man wrecking crew for Clayton Valley Charter as he rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Hayezon Jackson, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Monte Vista's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Julian McMahan, who rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Shehata, who picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Clayton Valley Charter now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Monte Vista, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Clayton Valley Charter will head out on the road to face off against California at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
