It was a good run, but the Fox Chapel Foxes unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shaler Area. While losing is never fun, Fox Chapel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Shaler Area is ranked 12th).
Several Foxes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jefferson Moorefield-Brown, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher White, who scored nine points.
Fox Chapel struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Fox Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Shaler Area, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2.
Fox Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shaler Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Upper St. Clair at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
