This season hasn't been kind to the Mitchell Marauders, who are still winless after their 17th game. They were outmatched by Falcon at home and fell 69-29. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mitchell in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost eight in a row.
Falcon's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Cox, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Cox also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Christian Bertholf was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Mitchell's loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.7 points per game. As for Falcon, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Mitchell will head out on the road to square off against the Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Sand Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday. As for Falcon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. Sierra knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Falcons likes a good challenge.
