Golden is 10-0 against Conifer since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Golden Demons will head out on the road to take on the Conifer Lobos at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Golden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday.
Golden has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 61-46 fall against Standley Lake.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Slade Pike, who scored 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Leif Hansen, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Conifer's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 57-44 to Evergreen.
Golden has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Conifer, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-15.
Golden strolled past Conifer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 65-50. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Conifer's Noah Bishop, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Golden to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
