5A District 13 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Rockledge's Richard Carter recorded the longest rushing play in 5A District 13 this season in his game against Viera last week. Carter scampered for 52 yards on the play and finished with 89 on the day as his team topped the Hawks.
Rockledge's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Adler threw for 129 yards and Joe Brown had 85 yards receiving. Kyle Thompson helped Rockledge's passing attack out by catching two balls for 28 yards.
Rockledge's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Adler has thrown for 398 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Brown has eight catches for 142 yards. Traven Phillips leads the league in rushing with 163 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Merritt Island takes on Larry Laskowski's team. The Mustangs have allowed 33 points this season, while the Raiders have given up 42.
Space Coast led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Montverde Academy.
