Basketball Recap: Forest Lake Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Braelyn Isidro and Sydney Campbell

If Forest Lake Academy was riding high fresh off their 61-8 takedown of Orangewood Christian on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Forest Lake Academy Panthers received a blow on Thursday as they fell 49-32 to the Foundation Academy Lions . The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 49-35.

Forest Lake Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Sydney Campbell and Braelyn Isidro. Campbell almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Isidro posted 12 points. Isidro has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooke Maynard, who scored two points in addition to seven boards, three steals, and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Forest Lake Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Forest Lake Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Foundation Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.

Forest Lake Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Foundation Academy, they and Father Lopez will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Foundation Academy is facing Father Lopez at the right time seeing as Father Lopez is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
