It's playoff time, and Bagdad had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Williams Vikings on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Sultans as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Rowdy Hooper made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Aaron Landers was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
Bagdad's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Williams, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10-1.
