Basketball Recap: George Walton Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Riverside Military Academy last Monday, George Walton Academy came back down to earth. The George Walton Academy Bulldogs were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 49-48 to the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-45 back in November.

George Walton Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jackson Wells, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Wells is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jaylen Alston-Taylor was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

George Walton Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Prince Avenue Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

George Walton Academy will take on Athens Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Athens Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something George Walton Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Prince Avenue Christian, they will venture away from home to take on West-Oak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
