Ichabod Crane is a perfect 9-0 against Voorheesville since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Abby Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Brown was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Tabakian, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
Ichabod Crane's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Voorheesville, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Voorheesville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ichabod Crane has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Voorheesville, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain Ichabod Crane's hitters?
Ichabod Crane took their victory against Voorheesville in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 17-4 score. Will the Riders repeat their success, or do the Blackbirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
