Whitman had to hit the road for their first game and  it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took  a  5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers on Wednesday.
 Whitman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Sammy Berman, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.  Sammy Angel was another,  scoring a  run and  stealing  Two bases. while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
Archbishop Spalding pushed their record up to 5-0 with the  win, which was their eighth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Whitman will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Poolesville at 10:00  a.m.  on April 14th. As for Archbishop Spalding, they will welcome St. Christopher's  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday.
