The Elkhart Wildcats lost against the Wichita County Indians back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Elkhart took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wichita County. Elkhart has struggled against Wichita County recently, as their match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Colton Harbin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wichita County, shooting 5-for-12 from long range and dropping a double-double on 29 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Harbin has scored at least a third of Wichita County's points. Christopher Michel was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Elkhart's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Wichita County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhart and Deerfield will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wichita County on the road again on Monday and play against Cheylin at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Cheylin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
