The Wilmot Wolves came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Langford 58-28 at home on Saturday. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for Wilmot this season.
Langford's loss came despite strong showings from Dylan Harmon and Ethen Olson. Harmon scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Olson scored six points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Olson grabbed two or more steals.
Langford struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Wilmot's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Langford, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmot will take on Colman-Egan at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Wilmot is ranked 135th, while Colman-Egan is ranked 116th). Langford will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Langford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
