Baseball Recap: Morrice Extends Winning Streak to Four

Morrice had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They never let the Hamady Hawks get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Orioles, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cody Fisher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fisher was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Gutting, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Long, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Morrice kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamady only managed one.

Morrice's record now sits at 7-3. As for Hamady, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Morrice will be playing at home against Webberville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hamady, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Perry at 12:00 p.m. on the 30th.
