After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Spring Valley, Sierra Vista was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Durango Trailblazers with a sharp 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won seven matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Sierra Vista got a massive performance out of Gia Christmas, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave Christmas a new career-high. Jaylen White also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Sierra Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durango only posted an OBP of .364.
Sierra Vista moved to 9-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Durango, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Coming up, Sierra Vista will venture away from home to square off against Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. Durango does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
