It was a good run, but the Centennial Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by Sangre de Cristo 55-20. The low total for Centennial ended their streak of high-flying scores.
Sangre de Cristo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaiden Smit, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Smit has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Deagon Rogers, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds.
Centennial's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5. As for Sangre de Cristo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Centennial will head out on the road to take on Cripple Creek-Victor at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sangre de Cristo, they will be playing at home against Creede at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Will Roden and Smit.
