After a string of three wins, the Pendleton Heights Arabians's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 74-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (63), Pendleton Heights still had to take the loss.
Pendleton Heights lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaycie Warfel, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 38.6% of Pendleton Heights' points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Jones, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals.
Gabrielle Burrus had a dynamite game for North Central, scoring 25 points along with five assists and four steals. Burrus continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kaiden Kreinhagen was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with two steals.
Pendleton Heights' loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for North Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-15.
Pendleton Heights will be playing in front of their home fans against Noblesville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 58.5 so far this season, Noblesville's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Pendleton Heights better be ready for a challenge. As for North Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Warren Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Warren Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday.
