The Herscher Tigers will square off against the Manteno Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Herscher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Herscher had just enough and edged out Dunlap 6-4.
Nash Brubaker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Brubaker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Meredith, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Manteno didn't have quite enough to beat Marian Catholic on Friday and fell 6-4.
Logan Bufford made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Buehler, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Herscher has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Manteno, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Herscher hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Manteno struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs.
