It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Benjamin Russell Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They breezed by Lanier at home to the tune of 39-12. The win was familiar territory for Benjamin Russell who now have seven in a row.
T.j. Wilson was a one-man wrecking crew for Benjamin Russell as he rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Malcolm Simmons was another key contributor, gaining 55 total yards and three touchdowns.
Benjamin Russell has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record. As for Lanier, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Benjamin Russell will square off against Hueytown at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Hueytown's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matchups. Lanier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
