There's no place like home for the Zion Chapel Rebels, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 59-48 win over Goshen on Thursday. Given Zion Chapel's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Goshen is ranked 426th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Slade Grantham, who scored 23 points along with four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Zion Chapel's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Chestnut, who scored 19 points.
Zion Chapel's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zion Chapel will take on Luverne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goshen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pike Liberal Arts on Saturday.
