The Whale Branch Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 76-11 win over Royal Live Oaks Academy at home. That looming 76-11 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Whale Branch yet this season.
Bradford Thompson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Dorien Alston was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Whale Branch's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Royal Live Oaks Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whale Branch will challenge Bridges Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Bridges Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Royal Live Oaks Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Allendale-Fairfax at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Allendale-Fairfax is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
