Carrboro won the last time they faced Durham School of the Arts and things went their way on Friday too. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Teagan Fichter and Teva Fichter made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Fichter struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Teagan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. Carrboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham School of the Arts only posted an OBP of .286.
Carrboro pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.9 runs over those games. As for Durham School of the Arts, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.
