The Elmore County Panthers lost against the Marbury Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Elmore County was dealt a 62-23 defeat at the hands of Marbury. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Elmore County in their matchups with Marbury: they've now lost six in a row.
Marbury was led to victory by Justice Blackmon and Nasiyah Jernigan. Blackmon scored 16 points along with six steals, while Jernigan dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Jernigan hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Jarman, who scored three points along with five steals.
Elmore County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Marbury, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Elmore County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marbury also has no future games currently scheduled.
