The Seaside Seagulls entered their tilt with the St. Helens Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Seaside took down St. Helens 27-12 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Seaside also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Seaside found their leader in underclassman Ryder Jackson, who rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played.
The team's defense also helped out by holding St. Helens to a paltry 167 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Seaside's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Jake White and his two sacks.
Despite the loss, St. Helens still got an impressive performance from Aaron Liebelt, who threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns.
Seaside's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points per game. As for St. Helens, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Seaside will be playing in front of their home fans against Estacada at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Estacada is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. St. Helens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
