Wolverine B - South recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Wolverine B - South this week, Edwardsburg beat Dowagiac 36-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Edwardsburg made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,386 from 1,823. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 36-0 victory over the Chieftains last week.
Three Rivers's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Cottingham threw for 142 and 2 touchdowns and Kyle Walczak had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Raymond King chipped in 107 yards. Zak Zagon helped Three Rivers' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 31 yards.
Cottingham put up the best numbers through the air as the Wildcats defeated South Haven. Cottingham's favorite target this week was Walczak, who caught 4 passes for 62 yards.
Three Rivers' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cottingham has thrown for 927 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Walczak has 26 catches for 461 yards.
