St. Joseph waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Stamford Black Knights as they made off with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Cadets have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Katie Dzialo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Sophia Rodriguez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Sadie Plotkin was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.
St. Joseph's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Stamford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
As of now, neither St. Joseph nor Stamford have any future games scheduled.
