The Omaha North Vikings can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fremont 74-45 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Omaha North sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Mynor Strong continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jerri'on Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Fremont saw an underclassman step up: Coriahnn Gallatin scored 15 points. Colin Ridder was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Fremont struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Omaha North pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Omaha North's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Fremont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha North will challenge Papillion-LaVista at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Papillion-LaVista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Omaha North is ranked 27th). As for Fremont, Fremont and Lincoln North Star will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jordan Castor and Gallatin.
